Pahalgam Attack: Pakistan Denies Allegations, Warns of Response

Tensions between India and Pakistan have once again surged following the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian-administered Kashmir. The Indian government was quick to point fingers at Pakistan, but in a strongly-worded joint press conference held in Islamabad, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry rejected the accusations, calling them baseless and part of a larger disinformation strategy.

🔍 What Happened in Pahalgam?

On the day of the incident, multiple civilians were killed in an armed assault near Pahalgam. Within minutes, Indian media and officials labeled it a “Pakistani-sponsored terrorist attack.” However, Pakistan says the timeline doesn’t add up.

According to Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif, the First Information Report (FIR) was mysteriously filed within just 10 minutes, despite the nearest police station being over 30 minutes away. "This was a pre-scripted narrative," he argued, adding that previously used fake social media accounts began circulating anti-Pakistan propaganda within minutes.

🎯 Pakistan’s Stance: A Planned False Flag Operation?

Pakistan claims the Pahalgam incident is a false flag operation, aimed at:

  • Distracting Indian voters from domestic crises.
  • Fueling anti-Muslim sentiment by suggesting Hindus were specifically targeted.
  • Justifying aggressive actions in Kashmir and toward Pakistan.
“India has done this before—Pulwama in 2019 is a clear example,” said DG ISPR, referencing an attack that led to a major military standoff.

🛡️ Full Military Preparedness: “Our Response Is Ready”

Pakistan’s military leadership issued a clear message: if attacked, Pakistan will respond decisively across all domains—land, air, and sea. “If India chooses conflict, it’s their decision. How far it goes, will be ours,” said Gen. Chaudhry.

Pakistan claims it has completed all military preparations and will defend its sovereignty at all costs.

👥 Human Rights Concerns in Indian-Administered Kashmir

Pakistan also highlighted serious human rights violations:

  • Fake encounters where Pakistani prisoners were allegedly executed and labeled as terrorists.
  • Demolition of Kashmiri homes.
  • Daily harassment of local Muslim populations.
One such case involved a 54-year-old Pakistani national killed in custody—an incident Pakistan called “cold-blooded murder.”

🧩 Is There a Larger Strategy Behind the Blame Game?

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized that India often resorts to blaming Pakistan before any credible investigation. He offered independent international inquiry into the attack and questioned why such incidents only occur when key figures visit India.

Dar warned that India’s threats to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty would be considered an act of war, reiterating that Pakistan does not want conflict but is fully capable of defending itself.

📣 The World Must Take Notice

Pakistan urged the international community to take action and posed six key questions, including:

  • Why does India use terror incidents to justify military aggression?
  • Can global silence lead to a nuclear crisis in South Asia?
  • Is it not time to hold India accountable for inciting religious hatred?

💬 Final Thoughts

As tensions flare yet again, it’s critical for the world to look beyond headlines and analyze facts. With two nuclear-armed neighbors at odds, the stakes are higher than ever. Dialogue and transparency, not propaganda, are the only paths toward lasting peace.
